Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship
Female students will be selected based on demonstrated financial need, scholastic ability and must reside in one of nine southern states. This scholarship is only for students currently accepted in the RT program; pre-respiratory therapy students are not eligible. Both undergraduate and graduate RT students should apply. Maymi Walker Chandler Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarships to female Georgia State students who are legal residents of Georgia
Students in the School of Nursing will be considered first, but the scholarships may be awarded to students in any program, including respiratory therapy in the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions. Fall Award
The Daniel J. Sansone Memorial Scholarship
To provide scholarships for undergraduate students majoring in nursing or respiratory therapy with preference given to pediatrics. Nursing and RT undergraduate students. Fall Award

Russell David Rivard, RRT
The Russell David Rivard Scholarship is based upon academic and financial need. It will be awarded to a respiratory therapy student currently enrolled in the University System of Georgia Colleges. This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Russell David Rivard who died of cystic fibrosis. February 1
James Ancil Lewis, RRT
The James Ancil Lewis Scholarship will be awarded to a respiratory therapy student currently enrolled in the University System of Georgia colleges. This memorial scholarship will be awarded based primarily upon academic performance and secondarily upon financial need. This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of James Ancil Lewis. February 1
Emergency funding opportunities
The Georgia State Office of Financial Aid and the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions, provide services and funding opportunities for students facing unforeseen financial emergencies that will prevent them from graduation. Awarded to a student currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care education program. Preference is given to candidates from Georgia and South Carolina. June 1
Jimmy A. Young Memorial Education Recognition Award
Awarded to a student currently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care education program. Preference is given to candidates of minority origin. June 1
NBRC/AMP William W. Burgin, Jr., MD and Robert M. Lawrence, MD Education Recognition Award
Awarded to a student currently in their third or fourth year of an accredited respiratory care education program leading to a baccalaureate degree. June

TEAS Exam
Respiratory therapy is now requiring undergraduate applicants to take the TEAS Allied Health (formally known as the Hobet).
Testing is held at Georgia State, and it will be a computerized proctored test for those applying to the program. View TEAS exam information here.
