Clinical Expertise
Dr. Hendry is a Registered Nurse with clinical experience caring for patients in hospital based NICU and home health settings. After moving to the academic setting Dr. Hendry has focused on simulation in healthcare education. Dr. Hendry teaches in the undergraduate nursing program and coordinates the skills and simulation labs.Research Interests
Dr. Hendry's research focus is simulation in healthcare education. She has developed a unique video capture technique called "Patient-Perspective Video Capture" to be used as an adjunct to reflective thinking during debriefing in simulation. Designed for healthcare provider's to view their verbal and nonverbal communication from the patient's perspective during a simulated patient encounter, the goal of this video capture technique is to improve the patient-provider relationship and patient outcomes.Selected Publications
