Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Residency Program
Our residency program emphasizes the importance of evidence-based practice. Psychiatric Mental Health [PMHNP] residents are encouraged to apply their knowledge to develop comprehensive and person-centered care approaches specifically designed for Veterans. Through critical analysis and synthesis of relevant evidence, residents will learn to evaluate and integrate best practices into their care strategies.

Immersive Learning Experiences
The program combines immersive clinical experiences with didactic training to enhance practical learning and professional development. Each carefully designed experience allows PMHNP residents to apply and assess strategies aimed at improving health outcomes for Veterans.
Leadership Development
We believe in the importance of professional leadership in delivering sustained, high-quality care. PMHNP Residents will engage with leadership theories and collaborate closely with faculty to assess and enhance the responsiveness and effectiveness of the Veteran healthcare system. This collaborative environment promotes continuous improvement in care quality.
Our Goal
The overarching aim of the PMHNP Residency Programs is to equip newly graduated, licensed, and board-certified advanced practice nurses (APNs) with a solid foundation of scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and professionalism. We are dedicated to attracting, educating, and retaining nurse practitioners who are passionate about improving healthcare quality and accessibility for Veterans.
