No, but you must be able to finish all prerequisites before the semester in which you are applying to enter the program. You must also indicate the courses in which you are enrolled in your application. If you are completing prerequisites at any other college, you must submit an unofficial transcript showing the course completion to the College of Nursing and Health Professions. You must also submit an official transcript to Georgia State’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions reflecting your completed prerequisite.
If you are a current Georgia State, student you must complete areas A-F of the University Core and apply by the deadline. The application also includes an essay on why you are interested in the program. If you are a transfer, student you must be accepted to Georgia State as an undergraduate transfer student before you can apply to the program. Once you are accepted your transfer credit will be articulated by undergraduate admissions to determine if you have met areas A-F.
The program accepts students twice a year; Spring and Fall.
The average program GPA for admitted students is 3.3
Competitive GPA for admission will vary, depending on the quantity and quality of applications received. A 3.0 minimum is required.
The admission committee, including program director and full-time faculty make all final admissions decisions.
No, letters of recommendation are not required to apply.
Overall grade point average, prerequisite GPA, consistency of academic performance, grade trends and interpersonal ability as evidenced in the written personal statement are all considered for admission.
Five semesters.
GPA is strong predictors of how successful a student will be in the program and therefore is a significant factor in determining admissions in addition to the essay.
