Health Informatics Programs
The B.I.S. in Health Informatics program is a five semester, full-time course of study beyond the first two years of the undergraduate core curriculum. (This program is cohort based, and is only offered in-person, with limited online courses--- there are no immediate plans to offer this program in a part-time or fully online format). Students learn the fundamentals of healthcare, information technology, data management and analytics, privacy and security, project management and other concepts applicable to the field of health informatics.
Graduate Certificate in Clinical Health Informatics
This is a 19 credit hour program of study. An online program designed for healthcare professionals or current students of the Lewis College graduate clinical programs in physical therapy, respiratory therapy, nutrition or occupational therapy.Students of this program are healthcare or IT professionals who would like to transition into careers in health informatics. The program will consist of at least two courses per semester, and is one calendar year long (three semesters). Applications are accepted for admission each fall and spring semester.
All credits can be applied to the MSHS in Health Informatics degree.
Who is eligible to apply for this program?
- Graduates of B.I.S in Health Informatics program
- Healthcare professionals (i.e., clinicians and other professionals who have worked in clinical settings) with at least two years’ experience
- Current graduate students in the CNHP clinical programs (except for nursing)
Prerequisites
- At least a bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited institution.
- Clinical healthcare experience.
Master of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Health Informatics
The Master of Science in Health Sciences degree with a concentration in Health Informatics is an online 36 credit hour program of study. This program is designed for current or aspiring professionals who already have an undergraduate degree in any field from a regionally accredited college or university and are working in healthcare or an IT-related field. Prior healthcare or information technology experience is not required for admission, but is a plus. The program is 100% online with asynchronous and synchronous courses. The MSHS in Health Informatics can be completed in as little as 12 -24 months. Applications are accepted for admission each fall and spring semester.
