FROM THE DIRECTOR

The Health Informatics program, established in 2013, has produced numerous successful graduates now thriving in the industry. Our faculty employ a teaching approach that integrates critical thinking, simulations, and guest speakers, equipping students with the skills needed to excel in their profession. Additionally, the program includes various professional development activities throughout the curriculum that students have found valuable for both their academic and career success.

We encourage students to actively engage in the healthcare industry through volunteering, internships, or part-time work while pursuing their degree. Every student receives a membership to the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), thanks to our Academic Organizational Affiliate partnership. The faculty also recommends that students attend local and national conferences to network with other health IT professionals and learn firsthand about the industry's innovations. We emphasize the importance of connecting with our program's alumni as well.

Our graduates are highly sought after, with many securing positions nationwide even before graduation. They have been employed by organizations such as Oracle Health, EPIC, Veradigm formerly Allscripts, IBM Watson Health, Meditech, AthenaHealth, Deloitte, Emory Healthcare, Piedmont Healthcare, Wellstar Health System, and various other healthcare organizations, technology companies, government agencies, and research institutions.
