Physical therapy, one of the Lewis College’s original programs at its beginnings in 1968 as the School of Allied Health, along with the college, celebrates its golden anniversary this year. PT started with a bachelor of science degree and has adapted to the changes in the field by now offering a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree as entry to the profession. In its half century, PT graduated nearly 1,500 physical therapists, most of whom are still active and practicing their profession today.
PT chose to mark the anniversary with a celebration during the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in New Orleans. Alumni, faculty (current and former) and students all joined to mark this occasion.
Thank you for attending our 50th-anniversary celebration, ‘PT is Gold,’ and we hope you’ll enjoy seeing photos from the event.
