About the Alumni Program

We are constantly searching for innovative ways to meet the needs of our alumni. By offering opportunities that enrich them professionally, educationally and socially, we are able to encourage our alumni to stay involved and remain connected to their Alma matter.

A very important component of our program is that we provide the opportunity for alumni to connect with students. Alumni can serve as teachers, mentors, ambassadors and promoters. This is one of the many ways for our alumni to “give back.”

List of Events:

Panther Appreciation Days Where You Work: if you are alum from nursing, nutrition, physical therapy and respiratory therapy and work with other GSU alumni, we will set up a catered breakfast, lunch or afternoon event for your group.

Homecoming Tailgate Party: alumni, friends, students and faculty and staff gather to celebrate Alumni at Homecoming and to reconnect with each other. We encourage our alumni to bring their families and invite their GSU friends to attend. After tailgate we attend the game and support our GSU Football team.

J. Rhodes Haverty Lecture: The purpose of the lecture is to convene Georgia State students, alumni, faculty, community leaders and practitioners around key issues in the health and human sciences in hopes of creating a dialogue and interaction that will ultimately lead to progress, partnerships and innovation in the field.

Class Reunions: We can provide support in helping our alumni organize their next class reunion

Partnering with the GSU Alumni Association: GSU Alumni Association

Third Thursdays: Be sure to join GSU alumni from all the colleges at a different metro Atlanta area location each month for great alumni networking, give-aways and special guests. Every Third Thursday runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00p.m. Complimentary appetizers and drinks will be available for purchase[AMF1]at the bar!

Partnering with the GSU Student Alumni Association: “The mission of the Student Alumni Association is to unite current students with alumni in a manner that creates strong value, pride and tradition for both students and alumni of Georgia State University.” This inclusive opportunity supports the Alumni Association’s mission to keep alumni “in touch, informed, involved and invested” in the university. Faithful alumni and student collaboration yields valuable programs rooted in deep traditions that are unique and engaging to Panthers, both young and old. Programs such as “Dinner with 12 Panthers” have produced incredible networking opportunities to our students.
