The Lewis School congratulates the fall Class of 2015! On December 16, more than 100 students from health informatics, nursing, nutrition and respiratory therapy graduated from bachelors, masters and doctorate degree programs.
A special recognition was given to the first graduating Doctor of Nursing Practice students. These six students received the top clinical degree available in nursing and are working in hospitals and colleges and universities around the city.
Lewis School alumnus and director of patient quality and safety at Piedmont Henry Hospital, Brent Robinson gave a moving speech to the graduates. Robinson recounted his own early career experiences as a bedside nurse with an emergency involving a patient’s family member. In the recollection, Robinson encouraged the graduates to trust their knowledge and have confidence that Georgia State had prepared them well for a career in healthcare.
Nursing baccalaureate graduate Nancy Brenneman was featured in the university’s graduation spotlight.
